What's My Deal?
Turning my first pen, Sep. 2012
My road to woodturning began with my love of pens and my quest to create my own custom shaving brush. Growing up in my Grandfather's office supply store, I gained an appreciation for a fine pen. The pen you use can say a lot about you, and I strive to create a fine writing instrument you can be proud to use and show off.
I like to use unique materials, from handcrafted resin blanks made exclusively for Anglewood Penworks, to historic woods and native Florida woods. Using these unique blanks separates me from the rest, ensuring you will truly have a one-of-a-kind treasure.
My "shop" is my carport... I really enjoy working outside, and the neighbors love to stop and watch while they're walking their dogs, and their kids are fascinated by "that cool machine". While it may seem unconventional, the end result is still a high quality product, regardless of whether I have a fancy shop or not. Even when I have a dedicated shop one day, I'll keep my lathe on it's rolly cart, so I can move it outside on a really nice day. I live in Florida... we have a lot of nice days here.
